THE BMS
DCS LFP Batteries are engineered to perform in the most harsh operating conditions. Every DCS LFP battery features DCS own custom and proprietary BMS that has been continuously refined and improved up since it was first introduced in 2018. The DCS 3S BMS is paired with our stand-alone DCS 16 channel 59.2A Active Cell Balancing System. Both have been designed to pass MIL-STD-810G (Method 514.6) vibration testing requirements which ensures that these batteries remain reliable even in the most punishing of conditions.
THE APP
All DCS LFP batteries also feature our comprehensive Bluetooth system that in conjunction with the DCS LFP App displays the following:
• Battery pack Voltage.
• State of Charge (SOC) % estimate via impedance tracking.
• Amp meter displaying real time charge and discharge current.
• Time remaining (estimate in real time).
• BMS Mosfet temperature status (for winching or large inverter loads).
• Battery pack cycle count.
• Cell status showing real-time active balancing operation.
• More accurate data compared to external battery monitors (shunts).
THE BATTERIES
The DCS Dual Battery System is designed to operate and are sold as a pair of batteries with symmetrically paired terminals, designed for parallel configuration. This is the simplest way, with the least amount of components to create a hybrid battery system that takes care of both engine starting and house loads
Forget what you know about dual battery systems. This pair are designed to be installed without Voltage Sensing Relays and Isolators. They are installed in parallel and both batteries cycle simultaneously, so that you take full advantage of both batteries available capacity. A Load Disconnect, such as the 65A Victron Smart Battery Protect will ensure that power is reserved for engine starting. We recommend setting the Victron Smart Battery Protect to 80% for deep cycling accessories and reserving 20% for engine starting. Combined in parallel this pair batteries can charge up to 160A (90A x 2) so it is recommended to keep the alternator under 150A. Please refer to our wiring diagrams for installation recommendations.
THE CYCLE PERFORMANCE
This Battery is rated to achieve a minimum of 2500 cycles @ 100% DOD (when ≤ 80% of its original capacity retention has been reached @ 77F). That means that this battery is rated to achieve at least 2500 cycles by the time it has faded 20% from its original capacity, that is, when ≤ 80% of its original capacity retention has been reached.
